Chris Gayle, West Indies the big-hitting batsman has faced fresh allegations of sexism scandal after flirting with a female broadcaster on live television.
According to media reports, British journalist Charlotte Edwards, who was interviewing the West Indies cricketer for Time Magazine, has claimed that Gayle kept issuing foul statements and was flirting with her throughout the interview. She also said that the cricketer resorted to objectionable and obscene remarks.
Gayle, one of the biggest stars in world cricket asked journalist Charlotte Edwardes from British newspaper ‘The Times’ if she had ever had a threesome. The interview is likely to provoke reaction from cricketing circles and beyond.
The West Indies batsman also said women threw themselves at him in their thousands, explaining he was ‘damn good-looking’.
Journalist Edwardes wrote on her Twitter account, “He asks how many black men I’ve ‘had’, goading me when I deflect the question and whether I’ve ever had a ‘t’eesome’ — ‘I bet you have. Tell me’.”
This is not the first time that Chris Gayle has been the centre of controversy regarding an interview, Gayle made headlines in January when he attempted to flirt with Australian television reporter Mel McLaughlin during a live interview with the burly West Indian in Australia’s Big Bash League for which he was fined $10,000 by his team Melbourne Renegades.
