KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Sindh is the first province to have its own building of Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority and it is a landmark in providing safe blood in the province to the patients.
This he said while talking to Secretary SBTA Dr. Zahid Ansari here is Sindh Assembly Chamber on Wednesday.
On this occasion Secretary SBTA Dr.Zahid Ansari briefed Health Minister about performance of SBTA.
While lauding the services of Secretary SBTA, he directed him to keep an eye on activities of illegal Blood Banks and ensure safe blood to the patients.
Health Minister also directed to the Authority concerned to complete on going construction work of SBTA building at earliest so that it might work more effectively.
Meanwhile, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has also taken notice of non supply of medicines to the patients in Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences and asked the Director GIMS to redress the grievances of the patients.
He also directed the Secretary Health to ensure the proper staffing at Civil Hospital Tando Allahyar and make sure proper functioning of all wards at the civil hospital Tando Allahyar.
The Health Minister added that work is in progress on Health Department website and it is being updated to provide proper information to the visitors.
He said that concrete steps had been taken in Health department to maintain transparency and to eradicate corruption that had brought good result.
