imageMULTAN: A team of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) has started surveying different big cities of the Punjab to establish KSE hub centres in Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad and other cities to facilitate investors at their door-step.

Manager Marketing KSE Imran Alam told APP on Thursday that they were proceeding forward at a fast pace to ensure direct link of investors with KSE through hub centres to enable them get issues relating to share transfer, account opening and complaints regarding brokers, resolved at their respective home cities.

Imran Alam disclosed that an SMEs Exchange would also start operations within the KSE in next few months to enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) or smaller companies having smaller capitals get themselves registered to attain status of listed companies.

A new system was also being incorporated in the KSE under which buyers will get details of shares activity on their cell phones in case of buying shares of any listed company in any city of the country. It will plug chances of any fraud or instances like brokers holding shares.

The KSE manager marketing said the government had already granted permission for establishment of hub centres of KSE.

He said a survey conducted so far in South Punjab indicated that there exist trend of investments in stocks in the area and the new international airport established recently would accelerate economic activities in Multan and surrounding areas with the commencement of operations of different airlines.

To a question, he said that only real buyers were engaged in stocks trading through KSE and added that only those earn profit who follow the principle of 'First Thinking, and then understanding before investing in stocks."

KSE was going to hold a one-day seminar in Multan in the first week of May for awareness of potential investors on how stock exchanges work and Managing Director KSE besides noted investment managers would be available to answer questions from the participants, Imran said.
