Opposition trying to disrupt accountability process to protect their leaders: Faraz

  • Some 870 persons were recruited without observing the principles of merit in Radio Pakistan, says minister

(Karachi) Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said that opposition parties are trying to disrupt the process of accountability in a bid to protect their leaders who are involved in corruption.

Expressing views on a private news channel, he said the government is working to bring reforms in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to hold those accountable who destroyed the state institutions through their corrupt practices.

He added the government is committed to a merit based system to bring economic stability in Pakistan.

Shibli Faraz said previous governments made inductions in government institutions without merit, even in Radio Pakistan some 870 persons were recruited without observing the principles of merit.

He said the government restoring the principles of merit in the national institutions.

The Senator Faraz said the golden shake hand policy is being introduced in Pakistan Steel Mills to revive the sick unit.
