imageLAHORE: Samsung Electronics view themselves as a highly conscientious corporate citizen of Pakistan. A few months back, this global technology leader had generously donated two units of the latest Samsung Echocardiography machines and an Ultrasound Color Doppler machine to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center in Karachi. These machines are now being used for the free-of-cost treatment of thousands of deserving patients.

These cutting-edge machines have been installed at the Department of Radiology – Cyberknife Robotic Radio Surgery & Oncology, at the JPMC, where free-of-cost diagnosis and treatment facilities are being delivered for the poor and underprivileged patients coming from all over Pakistan.

Over the past 5 months, the two units of Samsung Echocardiography machines have already provided free diagnosis and helped in the treatment of more than 2000 poor patients, while the Ultrasound Color Doppler machine has facilitated the Free treatment of more than 1500 needy patients at the JPMC.

The Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Pakistan – Mr. Saad ul Hassan stated; “It is a spiritually elevating and inspirational achievement for Samsung Pakistan, to have donated these masterpieces of medical technology to the largest healthcare institution in Pakistan, which is playing a key role in providing free diagnosis and treatment facilities to thousands of poor people every month, to alleviate their sufferings from serious ailments, otherwise these patients could not have afforded to pay for the high cost of modern medical procedures and treatment.

Head of the Department of Radiology at JPMC – Professor Dr. Tariq Mahmood; expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Samsung for this generous humanitarian gesture, which is helping his department to provide invaluable services, free-of-cost, to the poorest segments of the population. Dr. Tariq also stated that; “The departmental team at JPMC is now fully trained and is using all three units donated by Samsung very skillfully”.
