Rehman, Salehi review security situation

TEHRAN (IRAN): Minister for Interior of Iran, Mustafa Najar hosted a dinner in honour of Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik and his delegation here on Monday.

The dinner was attended by Foreign Minister of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi and Caretaker Minister for Postal and Communications, Muhammad Hassan Mani, Pakistan's Ambassdor to Iran, Khalid Aziz Babar and other senior officials of Iran.

After the dinner, Rehman Malik held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister and discussed matters of mutual interest. Both the Ministers also reviewed the security situation at Pak-Afghan border.

Rehman Malik expressed the hope the tripartite commission including Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan would meet soon.

Meanwhile, Sardar Omar Gorgage held a separate meeting with his Iranian counterpart and discussed avenues and prospects to enhance cooperation in the field of postal and communication between the two countries.

Both the Ministers agreed to take full advantage of expertise in these areas to benefit people of both sides.
