ISLAMABAD: India has welcomed Pakistan's efforts to liberalise bilateral trade and said the move is a step in right direction.

While talking to reporters, Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna said India welcomes Pakistan step to reduce negative trade list, private news channel reported.

Pakistan wanted to liberalise trade relations with India and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has assured me that India would be declared most favourite nation, he said.

The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved a roadmap to normalise the trade with India by gradually eliminating the list containing 1,209 negative items by December 31.
