Pakistan ODI captain Azhar Ali on Wednesday has expressed that PCB made a good decision of appointing Sarfraz Ahmed as Pakistan’s T20 captain.
According to local media reports, “Sarfraz is a good friend of mine,” Azhar said while addressing the media. “I wish him all the best for the future. He has a brilliant cricketing brain plus he has experience. I am hopeful that he will deliver good results as the captain of Pakistan T20I team.
The 31-year-old added that Sarfraz will be able to attract support from the whole team. “Every player will hopefully support the new captain,” said Azhar. “Our team has a lot of talent but we need to develop our skill set,” he added.
He added that the aim of the national team should be to win regardless of whoever leads the side and said that the team should rectify its mistakes.
However, Sarfraz Ahmed led ‘Quetta Gladiators’ in Pakistan's first professional domestic Twenty20 league in February before losing to the Misbah-ul-Haq-led ‘Islamabad United’ in the final.
