ISLAMABAD: Expressing his resolve to serve Pakistan cricket, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has claimed to give the Country at least three or four bowlers of his calibre.
"There are several ways to serve Pakistan cricket than taking a job in PCB. I want to own a team in Pakistan Super League (PSL) to offer talented boys a platform. I want to give Pakistan three to four Shoaib Akhtars," he said while talking to a sports channel.
Shoaib said he had met the PSL head Najam Sethi and discussed his plans to own a team in PSL. He hailed Sethi's efforts for holding PSL saying that he (Sethi) was doing a great job for improving financial condition of the country's players.
"Everyone is excited about PSL. I believe it will be very good for Pakistan cricketers as they will get a lot of exposure besides getting financial benefits."
He said that he might be critical of PCB on many things adding that whatever he had been saying was with good intention as he wanted Pakistan to win. "We have several talented players but they need guidance. The PSL is a great initiative and we should support it."
To a question he said that the trio of Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt had served their punishments and there was no harm in giving them an opportunity again. He said he wanted pacer Mohammad Amir to be part of his team. "Pakistan can win T20 world cup if it goes in the mega event with Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Irfan."
