ISLAMABAD: Former Captain Wasim Akram said that fast bowler Wahab Riaz has got speed but needed some time to get into his groove to be among first choices for Pakistan.
Talking to Khaleej Times, he said that there were some flaws in Pakistan's batting during New Zealand's series and it was the best chance for them to hone their skills and impress selectors ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Wasim advised that the coaching staff should corporate with players and give them some confidence.
Replying to a question he said, "Mohammed Amir had bowled well and I am sure he will be back to his best after having some international matches under his belt since he is quite young".
He said the World T20 would be held next month and all the teams were gearing up for mega event.
" It is very difficult to predict in this form of cricket that who will lift the trophy because one over or one catch can change the complexion of the game", he added.
Wasim said that Pakistan have struggled in New Zealand but conditions in India would suit their bowling and they were going to perform better.
"The PSL is a huge thing for Pakistan cricket and I am really excited about it like other Pakistanis. It is a blessing in disguise for our youth and I hope we will be able to stage this event in Pakistan in near future", he said.
