KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers chemical and edible oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal during last 24 hours.
Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and steel coil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 75 percent at the Port Qasim on Wednesday where total number of eight ships namely M.V Hanjin Elizabeth, Maersk Kalamata, Nedlloyd Barentsz, Thor Independence, Genius Star II, Chem Road Rose. AL Soor II and M.V Amagi Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 130808 tonnes comprising 90975 tonnes imports and 40233 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2855 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
