KARACHI: Approximately 71 percent of chief executives identify technology change as the most important external factor that influences their organisation.
This was stated by the IT Consultant and Services Sales Leader of IBM Pakistan, Salman A. Qayam.
He was speaking at the `Data Centre 2012'- the second international conference in Pakistan at a local hotel on Thursday.
Qayam said that as the world gets smarter and the population grows, demands on IT will also grow.
He further stated that consumer adoption and use of digital, mobile and social media through out the world is changing the nature of debate.
Qayam said that its time for firms to start thinking differently about infrastructure.It needs to become more dynamic as traditional thinking will lead to traditional solutions, he added.
He said that `Big Data' and `Analytics' are the big boom now and are playing a leading role as the clients are all demanding Analytics software now.
Qayam said that `cloud computing' is the next big thing which can be defined as a new consumptions and delivery model inspired by consumer internet service that leverages virtualization.
