DUBAI: UAE OPEC Governor Ali al-Yabhouni said on Monday that the country's oil production capacity was expected to rise to near 3 million barrels per day (bpd) by end of 2012, from around 2.8 million bpd now.
Asked if the UAE was on track to raise its output capacity to 3 million barrels per day, Yabhouni said: "Yes, around that level."
The UAE, one of the world's top oil exporters, increased its production capacity to around 2.8 million bpd earlier this year from 2.7 million bpd and is expected to add another 200,000 bpd of capacity over the next few months.
