KARACHI: Three ships C.V CMA CGM Puccini, M.V Keitum and M.T K-Coral carrying containers, project cargo and fertilizer were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Grain and Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Meanwhile another ship M.T Theresa Dumai with Palm Oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on same day.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port Qasim at 43 percnet on wednesday where six ships namely C.V CMA CGM Puccini, C.V CMA CMG Ravel, M.V Hawk, M.V K-Coral, M.V Keitum and M.T Glory are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, fertilizer, project cargo and phosphoric acid during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 95,756 tonnes, comprises 40,731 tonnes imports and 55,025 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,130 containers (1,477 imports and 2,653 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Two ships C.V CMA CMG Ravel and M.T Glory sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another ship C.V CMA CGM Puccini is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Four ships C.V Hammonia Pacificum, M.T Nargas Napa, M.T Theresa Dumai and M.T Baltic carrying containers, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Thursday.
Container vessel NYK Kai is due arrive at Port Qasim on same day while two more ships C.V Asian Trader and C.V MSC Jade carrying containers are due to arrive on Friday.
