KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, cement and edible oil were allotted berths on Qasim International Containers terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, LPG and chemical are also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85% at the Port Qasim on Friday where total number of nine ships namely MSC Jade, MSX Lana, Belgica, Mare Atlanticum, MV. Fisher-D, BBC Arizona, MV. Hawk, Contisaphar and Malibu are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seed and edible oil respectively last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 44,001 tonnes comprising 24387 tonnes and 19614 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried 1473 container (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
