KARACHI: Brisk shipping has been observed at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers and LPG were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to offload chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berths occupancy was 55% at the Port Qasim on Monday where total number of six ships namely MV.Lantua Arrow, MSC Ayala, Maersk Missouri, ER Canberra, MV. Aeolos and Gas Elixir are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 64,958 tonnes comprising 47,002 tonnes imports and 17,956 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,854 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
