LAHORE: Power shortfall hovered around 5000MW due to less inflow in Tarbela and short supply of fuel besides technical faults in a few Independent Power Producers (IPPs).

According to the NTDC sources, the hydel generation affected negatively due to less inflow in Tarbela Dam.

Meanwhile, both KAPCO, 140MW, and Orient, 106MW, were out of system due to non-provision of fuel and technical fault in 207MW Halmore. The hydel, thermal and IPPs generation stood at 4208MW, 1379MW and 5820MW respectively.
