KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday a PQA statement issued here said.
Meanwhile, one more ship scheduled to load/offload containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 75% at the Port on Friday where total number of eight ships namely MV Belgica, New Dehli Express, CGM Verdi, Indian Fortune, Arailah-I, MT Millennium, MV Pioneer and Malpensa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers wheat, fertilizer, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 99050 tonnes, comprising.72603 tonnes imports and 26447 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2313 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
