KARACHI: The Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Muhammad Hussain Syed, has said many countries and investors have expressed interest in development works in Karachi.
"And we expect launching of new mega projects very soon in the city", he further remarked, says a KMC statement issued here on Tuesday.
It said that the Administrator KMC stated this in his meeting with various government officials, business community and industrialists during the annual investment conference being held in Dubai.
The three-day conference which began on Tuesday, is being attended by over 4,000 delegates from 45 countries around the world.
Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed along with the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh, Zubair Motiwala, and secretaries of various departments of Sindh Government had reached Dubai for attending the conference.
The KMC statement further pointed out that on the first day Administrator KMC attended the key session of conference and met with the delegations of business community and investors from various countries.
He also gave them briefing on the mass transit system, Karachi Circular Railway, Bus Rapid System, Solid Waste Management System and Land Management.
He said work on many of these projects underway already and KMC is trying to improve the city's infrastructure.
Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed also invited delegations from Turkey, Dubai, Canada and Germany to visit Karachi which they accepted and assured him that they would soon visit Karachi to see the possibilities of investment in the mega city of Pakistan.
