Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships Zoes, Seacon-7, Maritime Riyal and Al-Jassasiya scheduled to load/offload Rice, Steel Coil,  Palm oil and LNG were allotted berths at Multi Purpose Terminal,  Liquid Cargo Terminal and Pakistan Gasport Terminal respectively  on Sunday.

Meanwhile three more ships Conti Cortesia, SBI Tethys and Ariadne carrying Containers and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

A total of nine ships were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, Coal, Soya Bean, Steel Coil, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively.  Out of them, two ships Atlantic Flosta and Ceylon Breeze sailed  out to sea on Monday morning and three more ships Aeriko, Al-Jassasiya  and Nord Mars are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during the last 24 hours stood at 164,445 tonnes, comprising 136,781 tonnes imports cargo and 27,664 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,837 containers (TEUs),  (381 TEUs imports and 1,456 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Three ships Conti Cortesia, Chiarad Damato and Ariadne carrying Containers, Soya Bean and Coal are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP and PIBT respectively on Monday.

While three more ships MSC Pine, Maersk Kensington and AS Paola with Containers are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
