BELGRADE: Serbia's central bank purchased an unspecified number of euros on local interbank market on Friday, to stem gains of the dinar against the euro, dealers said.
The bank which a day earlier bought 30 million euros ($33.84 million) intervened as the dinar traded at the rate of around 117.88 to euro.
After the intervention the dinar weakened to the rate of 118.02, dealers said.
The Serbian central bank so far this year purchased 80 million euros.
