Iraq's oil exports fall to 3.649mn bpd in January

Published Updated

BAGHDAD: Iraq's oil exports averaged 3.649 million barrels per day (bpd) in January, down slightly from the previous month, the oil ministry said on Friday.

Exports from Iraq's southern Basra ports fell to 3.556 million bpd, the ministry said in a statement, down from a record high of 3.63 million bpd in December.

Shipments from Iraq's northern Kirkuk oilfields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan fell to 75,000 bpd from 99,000 bpd in December, the statement said.

Iraq exported 3.726 million bpd of crude oil in December.

The average sale price in January was $56.164 per barrel, generating around $6.35 billion in revenue, the statement said.

Iraq is producing below its maximum capacity of nearly 5 million bpd in line an agreement between OPEC and other exporters such as Russia to curtail global supply in order to support prices.
