ISLAMABAD: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has recently completed a detailed engineering survey of 21 schemes for Quetta to provide gas connections to consumers in Balochistan.

The company has taken various steps to improve gas transmission network in the province to maintain gas pressure especially in peak winter season, official sources told APP on Tuesday.

Sharing the measures to improve the gas pressure in Quetta city, they said, the Quetta Pipeline Capacity ‘Enhancement Project has been completed that enhanced the overall pipeline capacity from 149 MMCFD to 200 MMCFD for supply of gas to Quetta and surrounding areas.

The sources said installation of a new compressor unit of 200 MMCFD capacity at HQ-Sibi and installation of one standby compressor unit at HQ-Shikarpur will increase pipeline capacity from 200 MMCFD to 226 MMCFD.

In addition, the sources said, the company has designed different reinforcement schemes to redress the low pressure problems across its transmission network in Balochistan and Sindh provinces.
