‘Gully Boy’ teaser introduces Ranveer Singh as India’s new street rapper

While Ranveer Singh is still riding high on the success of his latest release ‘Simmba’, the short teaser of his next release ‘Gully Boy’ is already here and makers have build up the excitement level of fans by giving an insight to the film.

A rap song titled ‘Asli Hip Hop’ was released online to announce the date of 'Gully Boy' trailer release date. Ranveer plays the role of an underdog rapper from the streets of Mumbai who becomes a big name in Hip Hop. The one-and-half minute teaser has no dialogues but revealed the ‘voice of the streets’ rapped by Ranveer himself.

Going by the quick moving snippets viewers can understand that Ranveer's character faces resistance from his family and society to fulfill his dream. But he does get what he aims for in the end. Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin play a crucial role in the development of Ranveer's character graph in the film.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the movie will hit theatres on February 1.
