On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,507. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at USD 6.615 billion and the number of lots traded was 13,581.
Major business was contributed by currencies through COTS amounting to PKR 1.910 billion followed by WTI crude oil PKR 1.615 billion, gold PKR 1.434 billion, NSDQ100 PKR 628.600 million, SP500 PKR 250.139 million, DJ PKR 226.693 million, platinum PKR 182.825 million, silver PKR 119.712 million, natural gas PKR 102.446 million, copper PKR 75.299 million and Brent crude oil PKR 69.046 million. In agriculture, 4 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 6.972 million were traded.
