Chicago Board of Trade corn futures climbed to a more than one-week high on Thursday, rising for the third straight session on support from increased export demand for US supplies, traders said. Bargain-buying after corn futures fell to life-of-contract lows last week also continued to buoy prices. The US Department of Agriculture said export sales of US corn in the latest week were 1.6 million tonnes for 2017/18 marketing year shipment, above trade estimates for 800,000 to 1.1 million tonnes.
