After Toyota and FAW, Honda hikes prices in Pakistan

Honda Atlas has increased the price of its vehicles by up to Rs100,000 amid recent devaluation of Pakistan Rupee (PKR) against dollar.

Honda has now joined the like of Toyota and FAW motors to hike the prices. After the latest hike, the price of Honda Civic i-VTEC and i-VTEC Oriel stood at Rs2.599 million and Rs2.749 million, respectively, i.e. price increase of Rs100,000 per model, reported local media.

Meanwhile, City’s manual 1.3L is now available for Rs1.729 million as compared to the earlier Rs1.699 million, whereas, City 1.3L’s Prosmatec variant is now priced at for Rs 1.869 million, after price hiked by Rs 30,000.

Coming to City’s Manual (1,500cc), which will be now available at Rs1.789 million a jump of Rs30,000, City’s Prosmatec (1,500cc) is priced at Rs1.929 million, showing similar increase of Rs30,000 per unit.

City Aspire Manual (1,500cc) has jumped to Rs1.939 million and City Aspire Prosmatec (1,500cc) has become costlier to Rs2.079 million, both showing a price increase of Rs50,000 per unit.

Furthermore, BR-V variants,  also recorded an increase of Rs 35,000 for each of the models. The new BR-V MT reached to Rs2.134 million, BR-V CVT is Rs2.284 million and Rs2.384 million respectively.

As per local media reports, the auto industry is particularly sensitive to rupee depreciation because of its high dependence on imported raw-material and parts that become expensive owing to fall in rupee’s value against major international currencies.
