NAB chairman orders verification of complaints

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal has ordered complaint verification against former Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique for allegedly occupying 98 kanal government land and using it for commercial purposes.

The NAB chairman NAB also ordered complaint verification against Petroleum Division and other federal ministries for establishing companies allegedly in violation of law, a NAB press release issued here Tuesday said.

The NAB chairman ordered complaint verification against Riaz-ul-Haq, member of the National assembly, for alleged embezzlement in government funds allocated for chairman of Municipal Committee, Okara for construction of roads.

Complaint verification was ordered against Member Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Aamir Naseem for allegedly abuse of authority and involvement in corruption.

The NAB chairman also ordered complaint verification against Abdul Karim Soomro, Member of Sindh assembly, for having assets beyond known sources of income.

He also ordered complaint verification against Civil Aviation Authority for its alleged deposit of Rs 5 billion in JS Bank in violation of rules.
