Despite his knee issues, Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has confirmed that he will be in action against the West Indies in the upcoming T20 international.

Afridi will be taking part in T20I to help affectees of hurricanes Irma and Maria. The match will be played between the ICC World XI and the West Indies at the Lord's on May 31. Afridi confirmed his participation in the match via Twitter saying, "I feel strongly to support this as a cricketer and Muslim."

Former captain of Pakistan added he is following cent per cent the rehabilitation plan given to him by his doctor. "My Allah recommends to help people in need with all the power I have," Afridi further said in his tweet.

Previously, a few media reports raised suspicions over Afridi's participation in the match due to his injury. Afridi had tweeted that he went to see his doctor in Dubai and the knee hasn’t recovered fully yet. This further raised doubts whether he will be be playing the match or not.

Meanwhile, English captain Eoin Morgan will lead the World XI. Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera has also confirmed his participation in the match. Apart from Afridi, Shoaib Malik would also be a part of the ICC World XI.
