TORONTO: Canada's main stock index edged higher on Wednesday as a recent rally in commodity prices helped boost the shares of energy and metal mining companies.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index rose 22.96 points, or 0.14 percent, to 16,188.23, shortly after the open. Five of the index's 10 main groups were higher.
