Christmas: Mayor gives salaries and dues to Christians

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said Sunday that ll minorities have equal rights in the Constitution of Pakistan.  “Our religion gives us lesson to respect others’ rights.

Christians living in Pakistan are our brethren and they have valuable services in the field of education, medical sanitation and progress of our country,” he said this at a ceremony held in honour of Christian community in which Christian employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) were given their cheques of dues.

He said not only Christian employees had been given their advance salary before Christmas but their dues were also being paid today amounting to Rs. 20.6 million so that they could celebrate Christmas happily.
