LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains on Sunday directed to put security on high alert on the Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas to protect life and property of people.
He said policemen had been deployed outside churches while security would be high alert on routes leading towards churches.
The CCPO directed officials to check thoroughly all vehicles at entry and exit points to maintain law and order in the city besides keeping a vigilant eye on any suspicious activity.
Amin Wains also directed the SPs to conduct visits to churches in their respective areas and monitor all security arrangements.
The officials have been ordered for putting in place all possible measures to ensure foolproof security around parks while personnel of Dolphin and Police Response Unit would conduct patrolling at various places in the city.
Meanwhile, the Lahore police also conducted snap checking, search operations and flag march to avoid any untoward incident.
During the snap checking/search operation in Iqbal Town division, police checked 170 people and checked security of 29 churches whereas the City division police under the supervision of DSP Nolakha Arshad Kanju conducted flag march.
Meanwhile, SP Model Town Husnain Haider also visited churches to review security measures and said that three layer security would be ensured.
He added that vehicles parking would be possible at least 300 metres away from churches.
