The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has planned to expand the Teaching in Clusters by Subject Specialists (TICSS) programme in all the 36 districts of the province. The decision has been taken keeping in view the success of TICSS programme in educating the Science and English subjects in partner schools in 24 districts.
This was said by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Muhammad Anwar while presiding over a departmental meeting of Punjab Education Foundation high-ups about extension of TICSS at his office. Various Programme Incharge, Directors and Subject Specialists attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that 98 TICSS training workshops have been arranged in different districts.
He observed that TICSS is very useful in imparting qualitative education to students of low-income schools who cannot afford extra coaching in these subjects. TICSS is also helpful for raising standard of Science and English subjects' learning, he added. It facilitates the students to learn modern concepts without burdening the school.
He further said that IT graduates will also be recruited as Subject Specialists so that they could help raise students' awareness about Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Punjab Education Foundation is committed to raise the standard of education of its partner schools and introduction of ICT will be an important step to bridge the digital divide, concluded Raja Anwar.
