Potato should be cultivated in October: agri experts

FAISALABAD: The agriculture experts have advised growers to cultivate potatoes in October to get bumper yield.

According to a spokesman for the Agriculture (Extension) Department, potato is used largely in the country because it is a rich source of protein, carbohydrate, potassium and sodium etc.

He said October was the most suitable time for cultivation of potato, therefore, farmers should start its cultivation with the advent of the month besides using seed of approved varieties.
