Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Friday announced draws for the second stage of PFF League 2009, which will get underway from December 7. The champions of departmental and club event will earn slot in 2010's Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), replacing two relegated teams which finished 13th and 14th berth in PPFL 2009.
The match between two Champions will also be played on 31st December, 2009. The departmental leg was comprised of seven teams with 1979 NFCC Champion SGP, SSGC. PTV and HEC entering the semis, while PPWD, Police and Pakistan Steel eliminated.
The Qualifying Phase of Club leg saw 13 teams in attendance and Quetta's Baloch Football Club, Sahiwal's Young Blood and Islamabad's Ravi Football Club joined directly-placed Lahore's Wohaib Football Club, Chaman's Muslim Football Club and Islamabad's Mehran Football Club into second round. Midfielder Saeed Qureshi's lone goal gave host Railways 1-0 win over KESC at Railway Stadium as both teams qualified to top Division from 2005 edition.
PTV annexed the 2006 edition by beating PMC 4-0 at Faisalabad. The 2007 edition was decided after Super-Six with PEL and Pakistan Steel finishing first and second respectively at Islamabad. The top two teams in 2008 edition were PAF and Nushki's Baloch Football Club.
