Shipping activity at Port Qasim

port-qasimKARACHI: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the Port where six ships carrying containers, chemicals, general cargo, LPG, diesel oil and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Sunday, Nov 27. Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to offload palm oil and chemical also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained upto 80% at the Port on Monday where a total of nine ships namely Maersk Carolina, Fisher-K, Golden Ambrosial Ikantambak, Wolong Song, Zeynep-K, Long Camp, AI Salam II and Argent Iris are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, canola seeds, gen. cargo, LPG, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 88,559 tonnes comprising 83,765 tonnes imports and 4,794 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,015 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three vessels MV Ikan Tambak, Long Camp and Argent Iris sailed out to sea on Monday morning. Three ships Maersk Carolina, AI Salam II and M.V Golden Ambrosia are expected to sail later same day.

Three ships Battery Park, Chem Bulk Jakarta and Guana Bara carrying chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Monday, Nov. 28.
