Ivory Coast flooding to slash Oct-Dec cocoa output

ABIDJAN: Recent widespread flooding in Ivory Coast's western cocoa growing regions will cut main crop output from October to December by between 20 and 30 percent compared with previous expectations, six exporters and pod counters said on Thursday.

It will also affect production from the current mid-crop harvest in the world's top grower, with port arrivals for the remainder of the season, which ends in September, expected to reach around 150,000 tonnes.
