Pakistan opening batsman Sharjeel Khan has dismissed the spot fixing allegations in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), claiming that he has done nothing wrong.
Sharjeel who was representing Islamabad United before he was suspended by the PCB was in Karachi on Wednesday, said he has done nothing wrong when approached by media persons. "I have not done anything wrong. Everything will get clear soon," he said.
Sharjeel Khan and fellow United member Khalid Latif were provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) allegedly for corruption in the second edition of PSL weeks ago.
Both players, have maintained their innocence in the spot fixing scandal. Previously, Latif said, "As God is my witness, I am innocent and I have not done anything wrong," while answering to media queries.
Earlier, Sharjeel Khans father Sohail Khan came out in defence of his son.
Addressing the media, Sharjeels father said that his son might have met someone unsuspectingly during the ongoing Pakistan Super League. However, "he did nothing wrong," Sohail added.
The batting duo was suspended under PCBs Anti Corruption Code. It was learnt that rigorous and wide-ranging investigation by the PCB supported by the ICC will continue as part of collective efforts to protect the integrity of the sport.
