Sindh Assembly session, which started here on Tuesday after a weeklong break, was adjourned till Wednesday as a mark of respect to the sad demise of sitting MPA from Shikarpur Agha Tariq, who died at a local hospital on Monday night.
Earlier, Fateha was offered for the departed soul when the House went into session at 10:50 am with Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah in the chair.
After recitation of Holy Quran and Naat, Law Minister Chaudhry Iftikhar requested for Fateha for Agha Tariq. On the occasion rich tributes were paid to late MPA for his services for the people of Sindh as well as in the political arena.
A number of MPAs both from opposition and treasury benches paid tributes to their colleague. They included Opposition Leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Saifullah Khan Dharejo, Qurban Ali Shah, Anwar Ali Mahar, Najmuddin Abro, Ayaz Soomro, Sardar Manzoor Panhwar, Kulsoom Nizamani, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Zahid Bhurgari, Abid Jatoi, Nasrullah Shajih, Jam Tamachi, Naila Inam, Naseer Khan and others.
The members recalled that Agha Tariq, who remained member of Sindh and National Assemblies several times, was son of Agha Ghulam Nabi Pathan, who himself had remained as senator. He belonged to a family, which has important role in Sindh's politics.
Fateha was also offered for those who died in recent rains as well as for the uncle of MPA Haji Pir Bux and noted artist Ahmed Saeed Nagi. Since Tuesday was the private members day, the Speaker, before announcing adjournment of session, said that Wednesday would be taken up as private members day.
