Published December 16, 2016 Updated December 16, 2016 11:26am

imageThe rise of the controversial billionaire Donald Trump to become the President of the United States has inspired many to try their luck in the pursuit of public offices.

One of the gamblers include former WWE wrestler Booker T. Huffman simply called Booker T to run for the mayors office of his hometown Houstan in 2019.

"I am pleased to announce that I am running for Mayor of Houston," announced Booker T on his twitter account.

imageBooker T, considered one of the most decorated superstars in the world of wrestling entertainment, was of the view that his fellow city dwellers deserve the same level of opportunities regardless of their economic circumstances.

"I believe in my heart that all Houstonians, regardless of their economic circumstances, deserve the same opportunities to build a better life for themselves," the WWE Hall of Famer wrote in a letter.

"I look forward to having a dialogue with the voters of Houston and if I am so privileged to serve, I will fight for them as hard as I fought for myself and my family over the last 30 years," he continued.

The fourth largest city in the United States, which is home to millions including the six time world champion Booker T has given a warm reception to the now retired wrestler, who is already receiving support from celebrities and fans alike.
