Boxing champion sent to jail after winning title fight

imageBash behavior goes hand in hand in the world of and Boxing, as who can forget the infamous bite by Mike Tyson or the on and off boisterous show by Floyd Mayweather; adding to the glorious list comes the world boxing champion Terence "Bud" Crawford.

The champion boxer was given a 90-day jail term after causing disturbance at a car body shop in the United States. The jail term comes just five days after he won his bout against John Molina to retain his WBC and WBO world super-lightweight titles.

Terrance, who should be celebrating the title reign, would now instead be sitting in an Omaha, Nebraska jail following a conviction on misdemeanors related to a disturbance at a car modification workshop.

According to BBC, in April, Crawford was involved in a confrontation with the owner of the body shop which had been painting Crawford 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Crawford, who had paid half of the fee for the work, refused to pay the rest, as he said that he was not satisfied with the service, which triggered the confrontation. Crawford forcefully removed the car from the hydraulic lift, and allegedly did damages to shop worth $3,300, reported Yahoo News.

"You've continued to act as if you are above the law, and you are not," Judge Marcena Hendrix told Crawford during the sentencing.

In the world of boxing, serving jail time is nothing new but it could likely removes Crawford from Fighter of the Year consideration.
