SIALKOT: Exporters are ambassadors of Pakistan who travel around the world, fetch business and create a soft image of the country, said Sialkot-based leading exporter Sheikh Riazuddin here Friday.
Addressing the participants in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA), he said that export earnings of Sialkot stood at US$2 billion annually.
Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Majid Raza Bhutta said on the occasion that Sialkot city had successfully followed the examples of Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan and other countries in development of SME culture in the city.
Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) Chairman Khurram Aslam Butt said that Sialkot businessmen have better awareness about the industrial set-ups.
Earlier, the newly-elected PSGMEA office-bearers Khurram Aslam Butt (chairman), Muhammad Ejaz Ghauri (SVC) and Sadaqat Ali (VP) assumed the charge their offices.
