Shipping activity at Port Qasim

untitledKARACHI: Three ships scheduled to load/offload cement, phosphoric acid and furnace oil were berthed at Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday, October 17.

Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at 54% for 2nd consecutive at the Port where a total of eight ships namely M.V Opal-II, M.V Sargodha, M.V Amira Dino, M.V Silver Star, M.V Lord Byron, M.T SC Belhai, M.T Bum Young and M.T Sea Sky are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, sunflower seeds, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 77,148 tonnes, comprising 67,191 tonnes imports and 9,957 tonnes exports was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Edible oil vessel SC Belhai sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while M.V Sargodha is expected to sail on same day after noon.

Three ships C.V CMA CGM Mozart, C.V Hanjin Elizabeth and M.T Argent Gerbera carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT and LCT respectively on Tuesday, October 18 while three more ships C.V CMA CGM Wagner, C.V San Amerigo and C.V Henry are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, October 19.
