The makers of 1993 hit action thriller ‘Khalnayak’ are all set to come back with a sequel that will see Sanjay Dutt reprising the iconic character of Ballu Balram.
After 20 years, Sanjay Dutt will come up on screen as a gangster as Ballu Balram. Dutt had played the character of ‘Ballu Balram’ in 1993 action-thriller ‘Khalnayak’ with Madhuri Dixit and Jackie shroff.
“He (Sanjay Dutt) will play ‘Ballu Balram’ who comes out of jail after 20 years. The script is at its final stage. Once it’s complete, we will announce the rest of cast and credits,” Subhash Ghai told an Indian media.
Earlier, the movie, directed by Ghai, went on and become one of the major hits of that time. Ghai’s Mukta Arts and Sanjay Dutt Productions have signed an agreement to produce ‘Khalnayak Returns’ by the end of this year.
“We’ve made an agreement to produce ‘Khalnayak Returns’ which will roll by the year end or early next year,” The Indian Express quoted director Subhash Ghai as saying. “He made a soundtrack with some voice over in the background which I loved. Impressed with his passion for the film, we decided to take the idea forward,” Ghai added.
The famous bollywood critic Taran Adarsh also confirms the news of this upcoming movie
