ISLAMABAD: Breaking its own Saturday's record of 17272 MW electricity generations, the power sector on Sunday achieved another milestone and the electricity germination reached to new record high of 17350MW by Iftari time first time in the country's history.
More than 90% of the rural areas and 98% of the urban areas were provided uninterrupted power supply at the Iftar time said a press release issued here.
The new record generation of 17350 MW further added to the efficiency of the system making it possible to utilize more than 87% of its possible generation capacity. It also firms up the endacvours to improve the transmission and distribution system in the country.
On June 8, the electricity generation reached to 17120 MW while previous year the highest generation record of 16866 MW.
