imageMILAN: Dozens of Serie A and B club officials including Adriano Galliani and Hernan Crespo have been targeted by an Italian police investigation into alleged tax evasion and false accounting, reports in Italy said Tuesday.

Sky sport Italia and Gazzetta dello Sport both reported that prosecutors in Napoli had opened the investigation into tax evasion and false accounting, while Gazzetta claimed "assets valued at around 12 million euros" had been seized.

A series of raids were carried out by Italy's 'Guardia di Finanza' -- an armed police force usually charged with investigating financial and drugs crimes -- early on Tuesday morning.

The reports claimed a total of 64 people were targeted, including AC Milan vice-president Galliani, Napoli president Laurentiis, Lazio president Claudio Lotito as well as players' agent Alessandro Moggi -- the son of disgraced former Juventus official Luciano Moggi.

Modena coach Crespo, a former Argentina international who spent most of his career in Serie A, and Paris Saint Germain player Ezequiel Lavezzi, an Argentina international, have also been implicated say the reports.
