AMMAN: Iraq's Oil Minister Abdul-Kareem Luaibi said on Sunday an 8-8.5 million barrels per day plateau production target for Iraqi oil output would be "more suitable" than the current target of 12 million bpd.
The plateau production period could be extended to 13 to 14 years rather than the current seven years, Luaibi said while at a meeting with oil companies in Amman, Jordan.
He said he expected a decision to be made by next year.
