Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships carrying containers and edible oil berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday, September 5.

Meanwhile one more ship carrying containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy at the port is 45 percent on Monday where a total of five ships namely Kaethec Rickmer, Sapphire, Tycoon, Ioanthi, and Chemroad Quest are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 21016 tonnes, comprising 10342 tonnes imports and 10674 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 544 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.

Container vessel Kaethec Rickmer sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while Chemroad Quest carrying edible oil have to sail later today.
