french-stock-exchangePARIS: French stocks dropped markedly on Monday after Berlin said the idea of issuing joint eurozone "eurobonds" to finance state debt would not be on the agenda at a Franco-German summit.

The CAC 40 index opened higher but fell into the red after Germany played down hopes Tuesday's talks between President Nicolas Sarkozy and Chancellor Angela Merkel would lead to a breakthrough in EU financial reform.
