port_qasimKARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers, canola seed and furnace oil were allotted berth at QICT, FAP and FOTCO Terminals on Tuesday, August 9.

Meanwhile five more ship scheduled to load/offload containers, diesel oil and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 60% at the Port on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely Sealand Michigan, Hanjin Portland, Alaska II, Alexi I, Hai Yu, New Sun Pearls of Jebel Ali and Four Bay are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, corn, canola seeds and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 60524 tonnes, comprising 39430 tonnes imports and 21094 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1795 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Sealand Michigan sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while MV. Hanjin Portland will also to sail later on a same day.
